Satan Loves This

I'll tell you what Satan loves more than anything in this world: a Christian who thinks the battle is already over.

Not the big, dramatic battles — the ones where you know you're in a fight for your soul and you drop to your knees and cry out to God. No, Satan knows he's likely to lose those. When a believer is on their knees, fully aware of their need for God, the enemy is at his weakest.

What Satan loves is the quiet erosion. The slow drift. The gradual numbing that happens when we stop paying attention.

The Subtle Strategy

He loves it when we skip our morning prayer because we're "too busy." He loves it when we choose the easy entertainment over the challenging Scripture. He loves it when we nod along in church on Sunday and live like pagans on Monday.

He especially loves it when Christians fight with each other. When we spend more energy arguing about worship styles and political parties than we do loving our neighbors and sharing the Gospel. Every minute we spend attacking a brother or sister in Christ is a minute we're not advancing the Kingdom.

What We Can Do

The apostle Paul told us to put on the full armor of God. Not because the battle might come, but because it's already here. Every single day, we're in a fight — whether we feel like it or not.

So stay alert. Stay in the Word. Stay on your knees. And most importantly, stay in community with other believers who will tell you the truth, even when you don't want to hear it.

Satan loves a Christian who's isolated, distracted, and comfortable. Don't give him the satisfaction.
