Are We Born Beautiful?
When humans save an animal, any animal (like a kangaroo with a bucket jammed on its head [true story], or an anxious injured horse in a barn with its caretaker, or a deer caught in a trap), when we release them to the wild, why do they run for the hills? Why do they run away, without so much as a thanks? Yet, when a human is saved by another human, both want to hug, cry, pray to God, and give thanks. Why is this? Because we are not animals. We are a special creature created by an Almighty God who knew you and me eons before we were born. Remember: “We don’t have a soul. We are a soul. We happen to have a body.” George McDonald, 1878. (Flabby as it is.)
