Midnight to Dawn Dance
We discovered this from the archives. Michael’s FINAL WORD story in Delta Magazine in 2017. It received numerous comments from Mississippians who lived during the years of the Gants, The Knights of Columbus, and other famous dance bands and songs from the 60s. Do you remember Double Shot of My Baby’s Love?
Michael’s brief insight into growing up in Mississippi isn’t so much about a dance that kicked off at midnight, as it is a “coming-of-age-in-Mississippi” story. Just click on Midnight to Dawn to read his true story. You won’t be disappointed.
If you remember those days, or have anything to contribute, please do so. We will respond.
Midnight to Dawn story

I absolutely remember all those parties, all those bands . . . Growing up in Canton, we went to any party within a 40 mile radius 🙂
At the “W,” there were Yazoo City girls -Tish Rainer is the only one whose name I can remember after all these years. I remember Allie Bridgeforth (Lexington?), Ann and Rose Atkinson from Pickens, Bill Taylor Presley . . .
We had some great times!!

Thank you, Carolyn. Those were the days, and the nights.
